No Cuts to Existing Benefits:
- Everything remains the same through the new 3-year contract:
      •
No change to medical benefits
      • No loss of pension
- No change ever to benefits for anyone who has already retired or who retires before the end of this agreement.
 
Increased Wages:
2% wage increase
across the board on 10/1/2012, 10/1/2013, 10/1/2014.
 

Clarity on Westside Hospital:
Kaiser Westside Medical Center will be recognized as a Kaiser facility in the NW Region, and will open under the existing Union contracts.

 

Total Health Committee to Create Incentive Program:
- The Total Health Leadership Committee will, in Partnership, develop a Total Health incentive program, separate and apart from the PSP.
- Program to be implemented 2013; initial incentive may be paid first quarter 2014.
- Goal of collective 5% improvement in key biometric risk indicators by end of 2016.

 

Dedicated Plan to Improve the Partnership:
- Commitment to consistent assessment of UBTs. Sponsors will have more support and co-leads will be held accountable with clear path to performance targets.
- Committee will develop a technology plan to support UBTs.
- LMP Trust Fund will be fully funded all three years of contract.
- Regional LMP councils will develop plans to reduce variation, leverage resources, and assess case loads.

 
Workforce of the Future:
- Regional LMP councils will develop plans for hard-to-fill positions by June 2013, to execute by end of 2013. Plans could include alternatives to minimum experience requirements, KP School of Allied Health Sciences, and distance-learning options.
- Benefits and programs will be communicated to members more effectively. Grants, government, and private funding opportunities for training will also be researched and publicized.
- Scope of Practice Committees will be implemented in each region within 6 months of ratification.
- Labor will be directly engaged in workforce planning and development. Career Paths will continue to be developed; job shadowing may be implemented; career counseling may be developed for workers in transition.
- Regional teams to establish preceptorships and mentorships, develop criteria for determining training priorities, and develop consistent, online prerequisites.
 

Growing KP and Unions:
- All Labor Relations and HR reps will be educated in real time on the Recognition and Campaign Procedures; communication, consistency, spirit of partnership.
- The National Agreement will be jointly enforced by Labor and management. Temporary employees must follow the contract, and use of temps and subcontractors will be minimized.

 

Maintenance of EISA:
The Employment and Income Security Agreement will remain in effect. This Agreement guarantees at least one year of pay in the event of a position
elimination. It also requires extensive efforts to redeploy workers into other
comparable jobs rather than lay them off.

 

Term of the Agreement:
- 3 years from current contract ending date, 10/1/2012 to 10/1/2015.
- Local Agreements are extended for three years, as well.
-All existing Sideletters and Memoranda of Agreement are extended with this Agreement.
